ORDINANCE NUMBER 23-11156
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF A CERTAIN TRACT OF LAND IN SALINE COUNTY, KANSAS IN CONFORMITY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF K.S.A. 12-519 TO 12-526, INCLUSIVE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. Findings. The following findings support the annexation of the property described in Section 2 by the City of Salina:
1. The property is the site of a proposed residential subdivision and the property owner wishes to receive City utilities and services.
2. Annexation is being requested by the property owner in order to allow the property to connect to existing City water and sewer lines and to receive City police and fire protection.
3. The property is located in the City’s Urban Service Area and is contiguous to the existing city limits on the west and south.
Section 2. Annexation. The following legally described tract, meeting one or more of the classifications of annexation prescribed by K.S.A. 12-519 to 12-526, inclusive, is hereby annexed and made a part of the City of Salina, Kansas:
A part of Lot One, Block One, Lakeview Estates Addition to Saline County, Kansas, and a portion of the South Half of the Northeast Quarter of Section 31, Township 14 South, Range 2 West of the 6th Principal Meridian, Saline County, Kansas being described by John E. Pratt, PS on January 12, 2023 as follows:
All bearings herein are based on a platted bearing of S 89°40'21" W on the North line of Stone Lake Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, said line also being the south line of the Northwest quarter of Section 31, Township 14 South, Range 2 West of the 6th Principal Meridian, Saline County, Kansas. Commencing at the point of beginning at the center corner of said Section 31, said point also being the Northeast East corner of said Stone Lake Addition; thence on the south line of the Northwest quarter of said Section 31, S 89°40'21" W 1158.12 feet to the Southeast corner of Lakeview Estates Addition No. 2 to the City of Salina, County of Saline, State of Kansas; thence on the east line of said Lakeview Estates Addition No. 2 and extension thereof, N 00°19'39" W 205.60 feet; thence N 75°05'07" E 635.19 feet; thence N 81°21'55" E 407.93 feet; thence N 33°01'35" E 228.20 feet; thence N 59°56'13" E 125.98 feet; thence S 84°50'24" E 175.96 feet; thence S 60°11'18" E 168.47 feet; thence S 17°32'56" E 434.40 feet; thence S 56°59'12" W 113.52 feet; thence S 00°19'11" E 100.03 feet to a point on the south line of the Northeast quarter of said Section 31; thence on said south line, S 89°40'49" W 449.01 feet to the point of beginning.
Contains 16.37 acres, more or less.
Section 3. Repealer. That all prior ordinances in conflict herewith as they relate to the above described real estate are hereby repealed.
Section 4. Summary of ordinance for publication. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
Ordinance No. 23-11156 Summary
On August 7, 2023, the City of Salina, Kansas passed Ordinance No. 23-11156. The ordinance annexes a 16.37 acre tract of land on the east side of South Ohio Street between Magnolia Road and Schilling Road on the south side of the Knox Sandpit lake into the city limits in order to obtain City utilities and services.
