Certificate of Compatibility
A Certificate of Compatibility must be applied for and approved by the Design Review Board (DRB) before certain work can occur on a property located in the Business Improvement District (BID). Examples of such work include constructing, demolishing or changing the existing exterior design, material, color, texture, finish or appearance of any building; introducing, changing, substituting or removing any physical feature affecting the appearance or property in the BID.

Commercial Building Permit
A commercial building permit is required for construction, demolition, enlargement, alteration or repair to any building (See Salina Municipal Code Sec. 8-1-1-105.2 for exemptions to permit requirements).

Residential Building Permit
A residential building permit is required if any building is constructed, added on to, remodeled, renovated, repaired, altered or converted. A permit may also be required for standalone electrical, mechanical and plumbing work not associated with a residential building permit.
