With a wintry mix of snow expected Thursday night (January 11th) and Friday morning (January 12th), the City of Salina has salted all arterial roadways, bridge decks, and elevated surfaces. Trucks are equipped and staff is ready to be deployed when the need arises.
Forecast Outlook:
- Scattered snow showers develop this evening and continue overnight, ending by late Friday morning.
- Salina looks to stay predominantly snow, some freezing drizzle and sleet may briefly mix in at the onset. Amounts would be light, if any.
The public is asked to allow ample space when approaching salt/plow trucks from behind, as the equipment will be distributing salt to the roadway. Driving too closely to equipment could present additional challenges and safety concerns for operators and other motorists.
