City of Salina Public Works street crews began pre-treatment of streets in advance of the current storm event and they have conducted 24-hour street plowing operations since the storm began. They will continue to work hard to keep Arterial and Collector roadways passable for emergency vehicles. The extended blizzard conditions are making it difficult to make significant progress until the snowing subsides. Once Arterial and Collector roadways are manageable, crews will start to enter residential areas to begin their plowing operations. City of Salina service providers have been working throughout the entirety of the storm.
Office staff have been asked to make all reasonable efforts to report to their work stations at their normal times. It is the City’s intent to open offices to the public at 10am on Monday, January 6th.
Circumstances may vary office-by-office. Citizens are encouraged to attempt to conduct their business remotely from home or call ahead to confirm the office and/or the staff person they wish to see will be available due to changing circumstances in response to the on-going weather conditions.
