    The Salina Tennis Center is a premium outdoor facility, boasting 12 state-of-the-art Laykold-surfaced hard courts, the very same surface used at the U.S. Open. The facility includes well-lit courts, junior progression lines for young players, and a lighted hitting wall for practice. You'll also find water fountains with bottle fillers, a shade pavilion for comfort, and convenient restroom access.

    Schilling Park, located next to Schilling Elementary School, serves as an excellent communal space for residents seeking open areas to engage in outdoor activities. Featuring a playground designed for children aged 5-12, the park is an ideal spot for flying kites, playing wiffle ball, and basking in the sunshine.


    In 2023, we introduced recently installed off-street parking facilities that adhere to ADA standards. Additionally, concrete enhancements and new sidewalks were implemented.

    Steve Hawley Park is a fantastic neighborhood park with a space theme, featuring rocket play equipment, a rocket-themed little library, and a climbing wall for added excitement. The park also features pathways around the park with planet trivia, providing an educational and entertaining experience for visitors. The park is named in honor of Steve Hawley, a Salina native who became a NASA astronaut in 1978.

    Sunset Park

    Sunset Park serves as the residence of The Salina Saline County War Memorial, Inc., established in 1992 to honor and commemorate the war casualties of Saline County and those who have served their country. A memorial was erected in Salina's Sunset Park, showcasing an eight-sided concrete monolith adorned with substantial bronze plaques. The pathways were paved with bricks inscribed with the names of veterans, creating the renowned "Walk of Honor." This memorial, dedicated to the City of Salina, was officially unveiled in 1994.

    Thomas Park

    Thomas Park proudly hosts the KIVA building, which has a historical origin dating back to 1937. Constructed by young individuals employed under the National Youth Administration (NYA), a branch of the Works Progress Administration (WPA), the KIVA stands as a testament to their craftsmanship using native stone. Additionally, Thomas Park is renowned for its 18-hole disc golf course, offering a delightful blend of open and wooded holes for enthusiasts to enjoy.

    Woodland Park stands as a compact neighborhood green space, tailor-made for the enjoyment of residents. Designed with the younger demographic in mind, this public park caters to children aged 5-12. It features a petite play structure complete with a slide and swing set, providing a delightful recreational spot for the community's youngsters.
