Youth Softball
All youth leagues are developed with the intent to provide true fundamental motor skills, basic rules, and the true understanding of teamwork through sports, while at the same time stressing sportsmanship and respect.
Mandatory Softball Head Coach Organizational & Certification Meeting (All League Teams):
- Important information covered: questions answered, practice schedules (in-town teams only), etc.
- Head coaches must register their teams online at www.salina-ks/parks-and-recreation prior to their scheduled coaches meeting to reserve practice times at the meeting.
- Practice scheduling will occur at the end of the coaches' organizational meetings in the order of team registration.
- Coaches are encouraged to come prepared with their preferred weeknight, time, and field. A chart of availability will also be provided at the time of reservation.
- Coaches Certification: Every head coach must have approved certification
- Meeting: Wednesday, March 25th, 6:30 p.m., 140 N. Fifth Street - Salina Fieldhouse
Team Registration Deadline: Wednesday, April 22, by 5:00 p.m.
- Completed roster with copies of birth certificates for ALL NEW players (returning league players not needed) may be dropped off at the Salina Fieldhouse, 140 N 5th, or e-mailed to [email protected]
- Age is as of August 31 (Previous Year)
- $675 team fees due at registration (maximum 16 players)
- All head coaches, assistant coaches, & dugout assistants must complete a background check prior to coaching: https://salinaks.seamlessdocs.com/f/BGCheck/
- Scheduled practices will begin the week of Monday, March 30, 2026.
- Game schedules will be released by Friday, May 8. Younger ages will begin the week of May 18 with older ages beginning after Memorial Holiday.
Parents Training!
* Each Team must have 2 Parent Representatives that are PAYS certified.
PAYS Certification Meeting Options:* Mon., May 11 or Wed., May 13 All Meetings are held at the Salina Fieldhouse at 6:30 pm
