ORDINANCE NUMBER 24-11213
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF A CERTAIN TRACT OF LAND IN SALINE COUNTY, KANSAS IN CONFORMITY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF K.S.A. 12-519 TO 12-526, INCLUSIVE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. Findings.
The following findings support the annexation of the property described in Section 2 by the City of Salina:
1. The property is the site of a proposed industrial subdivision that has requested to be served by City utilities and services.
2. Annexation is being requested by the property owner in order to allow the property to connect to the City’s water and sanitary sewer systems and receive City police and fire protection.
3. The property is located in the City’s Urban Service Area and is contiguous to the existing city limits on the north.
Section 2. Annexation. The following legally described tract, meeting one or more of the classifications of annexation prescribed by K.S.A. 12-519 to 12-526, inclusive, is hereby annexed and made a part of the City of Salina, Kansas:
The North half of the Northeast Quarter (N 1/2 NE 1/4) of Section Ten (10), Township Fifteen (15) South, Range Three (3) West of the 6th Principal Meridian, in Saline County, Kansas, being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of said northeast quarter, thence S 00° 13' 49" E, along the east line of said north half, a distance of 1325.08 feet to the southeast corner of said north half;
Thence S 88° 28' 40" W, along the south line of said north half, a distance of 2650.16 feet to the southwest corner of said north half;
Thence N 00° 05' 57" W, along the west line of said north half, a distance of 1320.88 feet to the northwest corner of said northeast quarter;
Thence N 88° 23' 06" E, along the north line of said northeast quarter, a distance of 2647.23 feet to the point of beginning;
Said tract contains 3,503,108.1 square feet or 80.42 acres, more or less.
Section 3. Zoning. All property described in Section 2 shall be classified as lying in an I-3 (Heavy Industrial) zoning district upon annexation as approved by Ordinance No. 24-11214.
Section 4. Repealer. That all prior ordinances in conflict herewith as they relate to the property described in Section 2 are hereby repealed.
Section 5. Publication. The City Clerk shall cause this ordinance, as soon as practicable after it has been passed and signed, to be published on the City’s website as the designated official city newspaper.
Section 6. Effective date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after publication.
