NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Design Review Board of Salina Business Improvement District No. 1 to consider the following application(s):
Application #CC26-009, filed by Leah Jayne on behalf of Framing Matters, has been scheduled for a public hearing before the Design Review Board of Salina Business Improvement District Number 1, requesting approval of a Certificate of Compatibility, pursuant to Section 2-207 of the Salina Code of Ordinances, to allow removal of the existing awning and installation of a new awning with signage over the entrance on the primary façade of the building. The subject property is zoned C-4 (Central Business District) and is located within Salina Business Improvement District No. 1. The property is located on the east side of South Santa Fe Avenue, is addressed as 121 South Santa Fe Avenue, and is legally described as the north half of Lot 119 on Santa Fe Avenue, Original Town (now City) of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
Application #CC26-015, filed by Katherine Kitchen on behalf of Lighthouse Properties, has been scheduled for a public hearing before the Design Review Board of Salina Business Improvement District Number 1, requesting approval of a Certificate of Compatibility, pursuant to Section 2-207 of the Salina Code of Ordinances, to allow a change in the color of the retractable sunshade screening on the exterior patio at the Starbucks site, from the black screening previously approved by the board to the mocha (tan) screening as installed. The subject property is zoned C-4 (Central Business District) and is located within Salina Business Improvement District No. 1. The property is located at the northeast corner of South Santa Fe Avenue and Mulberry Street, is addressed as 257 South Santa Fe Avenue, and is legally described as the south 28 feet of Lot 163 and all of Lots 165 and 167 on Santa Fe Avenue, and the south half of Lot 160 and all of Lots 162, 164, 166, and 168 on 5th Street, together with all of the vacated alley abutting said lots, all in the Original Town (now City) of Salina, Saline County, Kansas. |
The public hearing will be held in Room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 West Ash Street, on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. A hearing will be granted to any and all persons desiring to be heard on the above request(s).
