On Friday, June 19, APAC Shears of Salina will begin placing an asphalt overlay on Ohio Street from Cloud to Belmont. This work is expected to continue through Tuesday June 23, weather permitting. When paving is completed on Ohio, the operation will move to Schippel and Fawn, then move to Wayne Street between Highland and 4th.
Also on Monday, crews will begin milling operations on Vortex, Clay Ridge, and Wall Street through Wednesday, then move to the south end of the old airport off Markley south of Dean Evans Stadium.
Traffic will be maintained through the work zones; however, lane restrictions will vary by street. On multi-lane streets, one lane of traffic in each direction will remain open. On two-lane streets, traffic will be reduced to a single open lane. Motorists should expect minor delays and are encouraged to slow down and use caution when traveling through work zones.
This work is part of the City of Salina’s 2026 $5.9 million street maintenance capital improvement program.
