This event will be held on Saturday November 23rd, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the SDRC, offering a convenient drop-off location for community members to recycle and make donations that will brighten the holidays for local families and animals in need.
Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, November 23, 2024
- Time: 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Location: SDRC, 125 West North Street
With volunteers from the Food Bank and Animal Shelter on-site, this event makes it easy to support these organizations directly from your vehicle. The Food Bank and Animal Shelter have shared their most-needed items for this holiday season:
- Salina Emergency Aid Food Bank – Non-perishable holiday foods, including instant potatoes, canned vegetables, gravy, stuffing, and other seasonal staples, to provide hearty meals for families in need.
- Salina Animal Shelter – Donations of dog and cat treats, Kong chew toys, pill pockets, paper towels and food to enrich the lives of shelter animals awaiting adoption.
If you haven't had the chance to visit the SDRC, this event is the perfect opportunity to see the recycling center and learn about how it operates. The City highly values our community's recycling efforts and encourages even more citizens to take advantage of the SDRC's services.
The City of Salina is excited to invite the Salina community to
“Go Green & Give!” this holiday season. This event not only promotes environmental stewardship but also offers a chance for us to come together and make a meaningful difference for both families and pets in need.
