In the American west if you had a good horse, you had better keep an eye on it. Because the horse thieves certainly were. John Burchill shares the history of organized horse-thief gangs as well as the growth of groups that tried to stop them. Learn some of the tricks of the horse-thief trade and about some of the organized gangs, as well as the lawmen propelled to power through anti-horse thief groups. Don’t miss this engaging presentation by popular speaker, John Burchill, associate professor of criminal justice at Kansas Wesleyan University. This free presentation will be offered at the Smoky Hill Museum on Thursday, November 7, 5:30-6:30 pm.
