Due to current staffing and space limitations, Animal Services is operating at a reduced service level to prioritize public safety, essential animal care, and emergency response
Phone Hours:
Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM–4:30 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM–1:30 PM
Adoptions / Access:
• Monday–Wednesday: Emergencies only, limited shelter access, adoptions by appointment only
• Thursday: Surgery Day; emergencies only, limited shelter access, adoptions by appointment only
• Friday: Walk-in adoptions from 11:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Saturday: Walk-in adoptions from 10:00 AM–1:30 PM
Currently handling: emergency calls, essential animal care, bite cases, reclaims, law enforcement support, injured animals, dangerous animals involved in active incidents, legal hold animals, licensing, small dead animals on roadways and priority dispatch calls.
Not currently handling: owner surrenders, limited stray intake, wildlife intake, routine at-large complaints, new volunteer applications, and non-dangerous at-large animals.
Public tours must be scheduled through the Parks and Recreation Office at 785-309-5765.
