PAVEMENT MARKING PROJECT THIS WEEK
On Tuesday through Thursday, June 7-9, Twin Traffic Marking
Corporation of Kansas City, Kansas will refresh the pavement markings
on various streets in Salina.
The streets receiving updates include: 9th from Water Well to Riffel; 9th
from Saturn to Broadway; Edward south of Magnolia; Magnolia from
Ohio to the soccer complex; Magnolia over the interstate; Markley from
the water tower to Crawford; Ohio south of Schilling; and Water Well
over the interstate.
The paint is usually applied by a moving vehicle with minimum traffic
control and therefore few inconveniences to traffic. The paint dries in
minutes. Motorists should maintain their distance from the vehicle at all
times and avoid contact with freshly painted lines. Motorists are also
encouraged to seek alternate routes when they see that work is
occurring.
The $44,000 project is a holdover of the City of Salina's $4.7 million 2021
maintenance capital improvement program.
