ORDINANCE NUMBER 21-11058
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 20-11045 REQUIRING THE WEARING OF MASKS OR OTHER FACE COVERINGS IN PUBLIC SPACES.
WHEREAS, the Saline County Commission has repealed Resolution No. 20-2297 requiring the wearing of masks and other face coverings in public space effective April 13, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the CDC updated its guidance on May 13, 2021 to allow fully vaccinated people to resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing; and
WHEREAS, while current circumstances warrant repeal of the City’s Ordinance No. 20-11045 requiring the wearing of masks or other face coverings in public spaces, in recognition and furtherance of the City Commission’s responsibility to provide for and ensure the health, safety, security, and welfare of the people of the City of Salina, the City Commission encourages people who have not been fully vaccinated to wear masks or other face coverings in public spaces to promote and secure the safety and protection of residents of and visitors to the City, SO NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. Repealer. Ordinance No. 20-11045 is repealed.
Section 2. Effective. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper by the following summary:
