Lions and tigers and bears – oh my! Kansas has had its share of frightening and interesting animals including the short faced bear, dire wolf and smilodon (or saber-toothed cat). Explore a time of fangs and claws with Dr. David Burnham, state paleontologist and vertebrate paleontology preparator for the University of Kansas Biodiversity Institute. He will introduce you to some animals you’ll be glad you never have to meet. This free presentation will be offered at the Smoky Hill Museum Thursday, May 2, from 5:30-6:30 pm.
The Smoky Hill Museum is a nationally accredited history museum, in the heart of downtown Salina, Kansas. This FREE museum is open Tuesday-Friday 12-5, Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 1-5. Also, be sure to stop by the Museum Store for a wide variety of regional and Kansas products, local artwork and gifts for all ages.
