Salina’s community-wide day of charitable giving is coming soon. Arts supporters can donate to the endowment funds of Salina Arts & Humanities or the Smoky Hill River Festival on Thursday, March 19.
This year, Match Madness –Virtual Giving Day is primarily online, with donations made at www.matchmadnessgscf.org from 12 midnight to 11:59 pm on Thursday only. Or, gifts by check can be dropped off Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Greater Community Salina Foundation, 8th floor of the United Building, or brought on or by Thursday to the SAH offices at 211 W Iron Ave., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day.
Donors who give to endowment funds at the Greater Salina Community Foundation can get their gifts matched at up to 50%, up to $2,000 per donor per organization, with a match pool of $150,000. For gifts made specifically to the Salina Arts & Humanities Foundation Fund or the Smoky Hill River Festival Legacy Fund on Thursday, a 100% second match will be provided by the SA&H Foundation, after the GSCF match, providing up to $4,000 total in additional SAHF funding.
Every donation counts, says SA&H Director Brad Anderson. “The Festival Legacy Fund will help keep the River Festival affordable and accessible for generations to come, and the SAH Foundation Fund is designed to support the broader arts picture within our community.” Alongside the River Festival and SAHF endowment funds, donations to the Friends of the Smoky Hill Museum Endowment Fund will help secure the Museum’s future.
