For most law abiding Kansans it’s hard to imagine robbing a bank. But this fun and engaging presentation takes you to the heart of the action with tales of some of the most notorious bank heists in Kansas history. Join author Rod Beemer as he shares from his new book about strange, comical and bizarre robberies to deadly and unsolved heists. He’ll also discuss the professionals who did the robbing as well as those who tried to stop them.

After his presentation, Rod will sign copies of his book, Notorious Kansas Bank Heists: Gunslingers to Gangsters, which is for sale in the Museum Store. A popular speaker and historian, Rod is the author of twelve nonfiction books, an e-book novel and numerous magazine and newspaper articles as well as anthologies. He’s on various editorial boards as well as a member of several historical societies. So, hang on to your hat and get ready for a wild ride into Kansas’s bank heist history.
