Ah, the wilderness. Anything might happen when you take a walk in the wild. You might commune with nature and breathe in the fresh air. Or, you might step on the wrong thing, need clean water and get caught in a medical emergency. While every situation is different, there are some practical steps that might help. Join Dr. Jeff Thode as he shares helpful information about what to do when there’s no hospital or doctor around. Dr. Thode is an Internal Medicine physician in Hutchinson and is currently completing a fellowship with the Wilderness Medicine Society. Someone from the Salina Public Library will also be on hand to check out the newest Salina Reads book, Station 11.
This free presentation is offered at the Smoky Hill Museum on Thursday, October 1 from 5:30-6:30 pm.

The Smoky Hill Museum is a nationally accredited history museum, in the heart of downtown Salina, Kansas. This FREE museum is open Tuesday-Friday 12-6 and Saturday 10-5.
