COVID19 Announcement:

Due to circumstances related to public health concerns and budgetary constraints caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19), changes have been made to our hours of operation and staffing. 

The office will be open to the public 8-5 Monday – Thursday and closed on Fridays.

Most staff members are on reduced work schedule and may not be in the office on specific weekdays. If you need to meet with a member of staff in person, please call (785) 309-5715 to make an appointment and allow us to secure a location that ensures the health, safety, and social distancing precautions required.

Let us save you a trip, no need to come into the office.  You can access 24/7 our permitting web portal, click the Salina One Stop link from the City’s home page.  The permitting portal lets you apply for permits, upload documents, make payments, request inspections, and check your status. Planning Division

The Planning and Community Development function includes planning for and implementation of the physical and economic growth and development of the community. The division provides planning and enforcement services related to various aspects of zoning, land use, community development, and floodplain administration.  The planning function also provides staff support to the Salina Planning Commission, Heritage Commission, Downtown Design Review Board, and the Board of Zoning Appeals. The goal is to help these bodies and the City Commission guide the growth and development of the City in order to assure a more orderly and attractive community.
