Sanitation
Sanitation provides residential refuse and yard waste collection for over 15,000 households weekly, collecting about 17,000 tons of waste annually. Staff consists of one superintendent, one supervisor, one Environmental Education and Enforcement Coordinator, 19 full-time employees and multiple temporary seasonal employees as needed throughout the year.
There is no sanitation collection on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day; therefore, collection will be delayed by one day, beginning on the holiday. For example, if the holiday is on Wednesday, Wednesday's collection will take place on Thursday, Thursday's on Friday, and Friday's on Saturday. For all other holidays, or if the holiday falls on a weekend, the collection schedule remains unchanged.
