Community Service

When fines are owed to the court, the defendant may do community service work towards payment of a fine. Credit is given at the rate of $5 per hour for community service work towards the fine and must be done at a non-profit organization, excluding churches, that you are not already involved in. If you choose an agency other than those listed, you will need to contact the Court Service Officer for approval or the hours will not be accepted. Any court costs or fees (warrant fees, reinstatement fee, probation fees, etc.) cannot be paid for by community service.

Questions regarding community service hours, please contact Amanda Swolensky, Court Services Coordinator, by e-mail or by phone at (785) 826-7230 ext. 307.
