BUILDING ADVISORY BOARD

The Building Advisory Board studies all building codes and local ordinances adopted by the City regarding the residential and commerical building industry and makes recommendations to the City Commission regarding any updating of the City Building Codes.  The members also serve as a Board of Appeals to hear appeals of code interpretations rendered by the Building Official and also recommends rules and regulations regarding the examination and licensure of building contractors and trades craftsmen.

This board has eleven members, each serving a four-year term.  Membership is comprised of the following:  two licensed architects or engineers, one realtor, one licensed plumbing contractor, one master or journeyman plumbing craftsman, one licensed electrical contractor, one master or journeyman electrical craftsman, one licensed heating and air conditioning contractor, one journeyman or master HVAC craftsman, one Class A or B licensed building contractor, one Class B or C licensed contractor.  This board meets on the second Tuesday or as needed at 4:00 p.m. in Room 107 of the City-County Building located at 300 W. Ash Street.
