Signage Requirements
Effective January 2003
Signage regarding smoke-free dining ours is required. The owner or person in charge of a restaurant where smoking is regulated under Ordinance No. 02-10077 shall post signs which clearly advise persons entering and dining at the establishment whether smoking is prohibited or prohibited during certain hours. The manner of such posting shall generally be at the discretion of the owner, operator, proprietor or other person having control of the establishment; provided however, at a minimum, a sign must be conspicuously posted at each public entry point, either on or adjacent to entry doorways or at a location immediately inside the restaurant where persons may readily see the signage prior to being seated.
All signage must be of a size, type and in appropriate locations to clearly advise persons entering the restaurant of the Smoking prohibitions. It is at the discretion of the proprietor to post signage which indicates no specific hours during which smoking is prohibited, or to indicate on the signage the 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. ordinance applicability.
