Experience: Must attend umpire clinics sponsored by Salina Softball Umpires Association and/or the Parks & Recreation Department prior to the league season. LIFEGUARD (TEMPORARY/ SEASONAL)

Works under the supervision of the Aquatics Manager and/or Assistant Aquatics Manager. Duties: Responsible for enforcing waterpark rules & regulations; ensures the safety of all waterpark patrons; assists with cleaning & upkeep of waterpark facilities.  Education: Eighth grade graduate. Experience: Previous experience weighs heavily in the selection process. Requirements: Must have valid & current lifeguard training course certification prior to submitting an application. POLICE OFFICER

Application deadline: Until filled-Police Department- Duties: Protecting, serving, & working with Salina’s diverse citizenry & enforcing the law while protecting the constitutional rights of all. Education: High school graduate or G.E.D. Qualifications include: United States citizen; 21 years of age at time of appointment; no felony convictions, domestic violence related conviction, or other serious misdemeanor convictions; good physical condition; eyesight: 20/100 correctable to 20/20, no upper acuity limit with contact lenses; ability to obtain Kansas Police Officer certification within one (1) year of appointment. Selection process includes: Written test, two (2) assessment interviews, psychological evaluation, polygraph examination, thorough background check, physical examination, & drug screen.  Requirements: Successful candidates are prohibited from smoking or using tobacco products at any time on or off the job; must possess valid Kansas driver’s license; must live within 40-minutes response time.
