STREET SUPERINTENDENT
Application deadline: TH 2/18/10 or Until filled–Public Works–Duties: plans, organizes, & directs 35 employees in performing street maintenance & traffic control programs including street repairs & maintenance, snow removal operations, storm water system maintenance, road grading, sweeping, right-of-way mowing, maintenance of traffic signals, traffic signage, traffic markings, & flood control response activities, submits budget recommendations, maintains records & compiles reports, provides cost estimates, & coordinates after-hours response for maintenance issues and/or emergencies. Education: high school diploma or G.E.D. with supplemental college level coursework or trade school desired. Experience: five (5) years of progressively responsible street maintenance, construction, or related field with three (3) years in supervisor role. Requirements: residency of 40 minute response time; KS CDL Class B license with air brakes & tanker endorsements within 30 days of appointment; Kansas Pesticide certificate within one (1) yr. of appointment. Pay range: $44,179-68,474 with starting range $44,179-49,480/yr.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT III
Application deadline: TH 02/11/2010 by 5:00 p.m.–Human Relations–Duties: performs a wide variety of complex & mid-level administrative duties; manages the HUD TEAPOTS system; uses & updates the SCAIRS case tracking database; maintains the AAP database; customer service with frequent & on-going contact with the public; maintains departmental payroll, payables, & operational records. Education: high school diploma or GED with course work in typing, bookkeeping, computers, & clerical functions. Experience: min. four (4) yrs. clerical experience; strong knowledge of Microsoft software & computer equipment. Pay: $13.06-14.63/hr. Salary is dependent upon qualifications & experience.
