Any company contracting with the City of Salina must enter into a contract affirming that the company and any subcontractors it hires will take affirmative action to ensure that employees are treated equally without regard to their race, sex, religion, age, color, national origin, ancestry or disability.
Such affirmative action shall include, but not be limited to, the following: Employment; upgrading, demotion or transfer; recruiting or recruitment; advertisting; layoff or termination; rates of pay or other forms of compensation; and selection for training, including apprenticeship.
Our office has several documents which can help you to maintain Affirmative Action compliance, including a copy of Chapter 13, Article VI of Salina City Code which outlines the city Affirmative Action requirements, and a notice to vendors regarding the city's new regulations with regard to sexual and gender identity.
