The 21 employees of the City of Salina Sanitation work group pride themselves on the quality weekly residential collection service they provide at a fair rate for the customers. In a recent citizen survey of City services, the Sanitation work group received an 88% positive rating. The Sanitation work group believes that consistency and efficiency are 2 big factors contributing to this high rating. Customers of City Sanitation refuse service have available to them several optional programs. The yard waste cart is an avenue to have your yard waste material diverted from the landfill and composted into a reusable product. Another program is curbside recycling, which for a small fee offers City of Salina Sanitation customers the option to have a recycling bin emptied on a weekly basis. Our customers also benefit from a reduced price on special pick-ups of larger items.
