Vehicles & Equipment
Central Garage technicians repair a wide variety of equipment from weedeaters to motor graders. The City’s Fleet Superintendent is instrumental in developing a comprehensive vehicle and equipment purchase program that includes writing specifications, evaluating vendor bids, and recommending final purchases. This enables the City to purchase high quality vehicles and equipment at the best possible price.
Fleet Management Software
Managing the entire City fleet requires technology. Central Garage operates a computerized fleet management program that tracks expenses, schedules preventive maintenance, and provides repair order history. This program provides valuable information for budgeting.

Central Garage maintains the City’s fuel site at 315 East Elm Street (co-located with the City’s Household Hazardous Waste facility). This site provides fuel services for all City and County vehicles and equipment and is equipped to dispense fuel during power outages for emergency response vehicles.
